King of Cups

Cups are Water, Cups are Emotion.  The King of Cups is master of emotion, he can keep an even keel when emotions are going wild.  He's a calming influence, the rock you hold onto during the storm.  

Mindfulness is key to making an impact. The King of Cups is able to carry emotions with intention, aptitude, and wit, clearly scoring high on the emotional intelligence test. He is a master of emotions and is able to apply humanity in his thinking process and his inter- action with others. The level of connection he has with people come easily, as he is able to relate to different personalities, making him an excellent communicator. The waters are calm, even when turbulence is present. He is able to weather the storms and handle hectic situations with finesse and grace. His gift for guidance can heavily influence people, and he enjoys helping others. The King of Cups is a reflection of you or a man in your life. He reminds you to incorporate compassion, whatever the circumstance may be.

Three of Pentacles

This card for me means you are set to reach any goal.  You have that team, that support system in place and you can tackle anything that is in front of you.  You will be successful, because of the support system.  

Teamwork makes the dream work! The seeds of your ideas are taking root as you make the moves to grow and expand. Collaboration with like-minded souls is a must for inspired success. Everyone offers their different skills to the table, which makes the project even better. There is synergy among all of you, together working toward your common goal of creating amazing and meaningful work. Build a team with those who have talents that would complement yours, for example, like finding an analytical person to partner with an artistic person. The yin and yang of your combined strengths and weaknesses will allow learning and growth from each other to create a trinity effect. As the Beatles said, “I get by with a little help from my friends.”

The Eight of Pentacles

Here we see a person hard at work, honing their craft.  With all that hard work, good things happen.  So we are back to the work week after that long Holiday break.  Time to get back to the swing of things.

The Seven of Wands

For this card I always see a person standing their ground.  When they are up against it they are holding their own and then some.  You are in a good spot, just don't let that go to your head. 

"The Seven of this suit generally shows a person who is nearly always successful in working his or her will in the world. This is a person who is truly gifted, standing head and shoulders above the rest. This person is sets standards and sets examples that exceed previous conceptions of what is possible.

Beware of conceitedness that can be hinted at by this card. Being successful does not make you invincible, and it does not protect you against errors! Enjoy your "fifteen minutes of fame" and then get back to your tasks, or your head will swell, to the detriment of your ability to succeed again."

I decided to change up the deck I'm using for the card of the day.  I'll probably go a week with this deck then switch again.  I have so many decks.  The Wild Unknown got me to stop reading about doing readings for people and actually DOING them.  This deck is the Mystic Mondays deck and I just got it.  I immediately fell in love with the imagery and have had a couple of really good readings with it.

The Chariot

This card shows that you are in control of your life. You are directing your energy to where you need it to go.  You are focused on the job at hand and have the strength to accomplish the task.  

"The Chariot shows the importance of mastering the way you present yourself to the world. This card is sometimes associated with ego, and while the term ‘ego’ has a bad reputation, the truth is that having a healthy ego is really important. Having a strong idea of who we are as an individual is essential to our ability to be authentic, to set goals, and to live our lives the way that is right for us. This is a card of autonomy, of your ability to choose how to show up in your life.

The card is black and white, with the exception of the red corners. The red here is bolder, unlike some of the more watered down colors we’ve seen in earlier cards. The use of color here is more commanding. Red is a color of confidence and assurance. Four is a number of stability, and the positioning of the color in the four corners shows the self-control associated with the Chariot.

The body of the horse becomes less and less detailed towards the bottom of the card. This shows that The Chariot can channel external as well as internal energy and direct it through her own determination. For better or for worse, the Chariot is so focused on the task at hand that nothing else seems to matter. There is a singular determination at work in this card."

The Empress

The Empress is nurturing, creative energy.  Generally a woman, but can also be a male figure.  She'll help you grow and bloom, become the person you should be.  

"The Empress is at home in the sensual, life-sustaining energies of the natural world. This card is associated with nurturing in all of its guises: anything from literally mothering a child, to tending a garden, to cultivating a creative project. The Empress breathes life into the world around her. Although it is nighttime, the tree glows as though to offer a safe haven to any creature in need of care. 

This particular Empress is unapologetic about taking up space. Her branches and blossoms sprawl freely across the card. She is completely at home in her own skin (or in this case, bark!). She invites us to give ourselves that same permission to inhabit our own flesh and to ground ourselves into the earth that gives us life.  She cares for others, providing safety and sustenance; and she is cared for as well, taking in nutrients from the soil and sky. In this sense, the Empress asks you to embrace your own role both as a nurturer and as a receiver of nurturing.

The edges of the tree are brimming with pink, red and purple life. The colors evoke blossoms and fruit – signs of the Empress’ role in creating and sustaining life. Note that this is a deciduous tree, which goes through the repeating cycles of the seasons. She will have color in autumn, lose leaves in winter, and then burst forth with new leaves and blossoms in the spring, bearing fruit once again in the summer. This is an apt way to show the cyclical, life-affirming energy of the Empress."

Mother of Cups

Your guide to the spiritual, listen to that inner voice to guide you.  Feel the emotions, and remain centered to learn which direction you should go.  When this card comes up in a reading it really depends on the position as to what it will mean.  It could mean an older woman that you will meet, or it will be to look inside you.  

The Mother of Cups lives in a world shrouded by both mystery and beauty. She dwells in the night-time, just as the Empress and the High Priestess did. Night-time is the realm of the feminine and of inward flowing energy. However, if you look closely, there are white vertical lines dispersed in the black background. There’s a bit of the opposite contained within the darkness.

The Mother herself stands out, a white swan against a black background. She faces to the left, the direction associated with mystery and yin energy. One wing is outstretched gracefully over an intricate goblet. Blue, purple and pink stars sparsely dot the sky behind her. These colors are often associated with spirituality and receptivity.

The Mother of Cups has more mature emotional intelligence than the son or daughter. She is wise to the deeper implications of the world, she sees more than just what meets the eye. She is highly sensitive, yet does not let her sensitivities overwhelm her. Her intuition can seem almost magical. She easily senses what type of care and love is needed in a given situation.

As a court card, the Mother of Cups represents an aspect of the human psyche. This card is associated with the part of you that feels a deep connection to many different life forms. She represents your sensitivity to the world of dreams and myths. She asks you to embody her ideals of living with kindness and compassion.
