I took a break last week after the Ghosts on the Coast event and reconnecting with the Ocean, just needed some time for myself.  Now it's a new week and I'm ready to continue pulling a Card a day and seeing how that energy manifests in my day.  :-) 

Seven of Wands today.  I always like this card.  Yes you may be up against it, but you are standing your ground.  Ready to withstand any attacks.  The world may come at you, or just specific things, but you got this.  You can handle whatever comes your way.  Be strong, be confident.  

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,” said Wayne Gretzky. This is about going after what you want, playing both offense and defense. You’ve gotten this far on your own, and now it’s about sustaining your success and maintaining your reputation. You may be clouded with thoughts like “am I good enough to be here” and experiencing imposter syndrome. Stop it. Remember who you are, review all your previous accomplishments, and know that you got to where you are for a reason. Fight with integrity and honor when you face your challenges. Stand your ground when necessary and don’t back down. Persevere through this challenge, like you have in the past. Not everybody will like you, but they will respect you for standing up for yourself.

King of Pentacles

Love the imagery in this deck, and the King of Pentacles is no exception.  I see a James Bond type of figure in this card, or successful businessman.  He's worked hard for what he's got and he's not afraid to share his knowledge with you.  It's not just financial success here, could be spiritual.  Great card, and could indicate you or a male figure in your life.  

Large and in charge! Capital in all forms, the King of Pentacles is a sign of security, financial prosperity, and worldly gains. He’s your businessman with proven models, multiple ventures, and growing enterprises. His energy exudes ambition and confidence, rising with every turn of profit he’s ever made. He’s committed and responsible to living his best life, which includes security and financial success. He is a provider, his riches supplying holistic wealth. The Hanged Woman (Man)

I always enjoy this card.  To me it does not represent being stuck, it's more just a time to take a moment and observe what is going on.  Be still and let things come to you.  Your path, or what action you should take will be revealed soon.  

Suspended in time when all is up in the air, this is a stage where you feel stuck between the momentum of the future and the speculation of the past. Delays and indecision are to be expected, and it is in your best interest to prolong any decision making. Think outside of yourself, and try your best to see the big picture. This inconspicuous small moment could bring big impact. Feeling stuck with nowhere to go is temporary. Constant activity keeps the ego busy, but by practicing patience you are allowing other opportunities to unfold for you. Give yourself permission to receive! Delay instant gratification and put in the time and effort so that you can see your big vision come to life. Ask yourself what tiny thing you can give up now to get to the end goal. Sacrifice small pleasures to invest in your long-term success.

8 of Wands

Hmmm, seems like this is the week of Wands.  Actually two cards jumped out of the deck today, the King of Wands and the 8 of Wands.  As I just did the King a few days ago, I figured I'd focus on the 8.  

So Wands are 'Action', 'Fire', 'Creativity'.  The 8 is you running on all cylinders, just full out motion.  You are heading to your goal and going full out.  Nothing is going to stop you now. 

Ready, set, go! Your steady pace has turned into a full-on sprint and you are now moving faster than ever. Progress is a process, and you are combusting with frenetic force, pushing your plans into rapid action. Things are falling into place, in a serendipitous fashion. Within structure there is freedom, room for more self-expression and creativity. Boundaries enable you to think about the important tasks, funneling your efforts into concentrated focus instead of using up your reserves. King of Cups

Cups are Water, Cups are Emotion.  The King of Cups is master of emotion, he can keep an even keel when emotions are going wild.  He's a calming influence, the rock you hold onto during the storm.  

Mindfulness is key to making an impact. The King of Cups is able to carry emotions with intention, aptitude, and wit, clearly scoring high on the emotional intelligence test. He is a master of emotions and is able to apply humanity in his thinking process and his inter- action with others. This card for me means you are set to reach any goal.  You have that team, that support system in place and you can tackle anything that is in front of you.  You will be successful, because of the support system.  

Teamwork makes the dream work! The seeds of your ideas are taking root as you make the moves to grow and expand. Collaboration with like-minded souls is a must for inspired success. Everyone offers their different skills to the table, which makes the project even better. There is synergy among all of you, together working toward your common goal of creating amazing and meaningful work. Build a team with those who have talents that would complement yours, for example, like finding an analytical person to partner with an artistic person. The yin and yang of your combined strengths and weaknesses will allow learning and growth from each other to create a trinity effect. The Eight of Pentacles

Here we see a person hard at work, honing their craft.  With all that hard work, good things happen.  So we are back to the work week after that long Holiday break.  Time to get back to the swing of things.

The Seven of Wands

For this card I always see a person standing their ground.  When they are up against it they are holding their own and then some.  You are in a good spot, just don't let that go to your head. 

"The Seven of this suit generally shows a person who is nearly always successful in working his or her will in the world. This is a person who is truly gifted, standing head and shoulders above the rest. This person is sets standards and sets examples that exceed previous conceptions of what is possible.

Beware of conceitedness that can be hinted at by this card. Being successful does not make you invincible, and it does not protect you against errors! Enjoy your "fifteen minutes of fame" and then get back to your tasks, or your head will swell, to the detriment of your ability to succeed again."

I decided to change up the deck I'm using for the card of the day.  I'll probably go a week with this deck then switch again.  I have so many decks.  The Wild Unknown got me to stop reading about doing readings for people and actually DOING them.  This deck is the Mystic Mondays deck and I just got it.  I immediately fell in love with the imagery and have had a couple of really good readings with it.

The Chariot

This card shows that you are in control of your life. You are directing your energy to where you need it to go.  You are focused on the job at hand and have the strength to accomplish the task.  

"The Chariot shows the importance of mastering the way you present yourself to the world. This card is sometimes associated with ego, and while the term ‘ego’ has a bad reputation, the truth is that having a healthy ego is really important. Having a strong idea of who we are as an individual is essential to our ability to be authentic, to set goals, and to live our lives the way that is right for us. This is a card of autonomy, of your ability to choose how to show up in your life.

The card is black and white, with the exception of the red corners. The red here is bolder, unlike some of the more watered down colors we’ve seen in earlier cards. The use of color here is more commanding. Red is a color of confidence and assurance. Four is a number of stability, and the positioning of the color in the four corners shows the self-control associated with the Chariot.

The body of the horse becomes less and less detailed towards the bottom of the card. This shows that The Chariot can channel external as well as internal energy and direct it through her own determination. For better or for worse, the Chariot is so focused on the task at hand that nothing else seems to matter. There is a singular determination at work in this card."

The Empress

The Empress is nurturing, creative energy.  Generally a woman, but can also be a male figure.  She'll help you grow and bloom, become the person you should be.  

"The Empress is at home in the sensual, life-sustaining energies of the natural world. This card is associated with nurturing in all of its guises: anything from literally mothering a child, to tending a garden, to cultivating a creative project. The Empress breathes life into the world around her. Although it is nighttime, the tree glows as though to offer a safe haven to any creature in need of care. 

This particular Empress is unapologetic about taking up space. Her branches and blossoms sprawl freely across the card. She is completely at home in her own skin (or in this case, bark!). She invites us to give ourselves that same permission to inhabit our own flesh and to ground ourselves into the earth that gives us life.  She cares for others, providing safety and sustenance; and she is cared for as well, taking in nutrients from the soil and sky. In this sense, the Empress asks you to embrace your own role both as a nurturer and as a receiver of nurturing.

The edges of the tree are brimming with pink, red and purple life. The colors evoke blossoms and fruit – signs of the Empress’ role in creating and sustaining life. Note that this is a deciduous tree, which goes through the repeating cycles of the seasons. She will have color in autumn, lose leaves in winter, and then burst forth with new leaves and blossoms in the spring, bearing fruit once again in the summer. This is an apt way to show the cyclical, life-affirming energy of the Empress."

Mother of Cups

Your guide to the spiritual, listen to that inner voice to guide you.  Feel the emotions, and remain centered to learn which direction you should go.  When this card comes up in a reading it really depends on the position as to what it will mean.  It could mean an older woman that you will meet, or it will be to look inside you.  

The Mother of Cups lives in a world shrouded by both mystery and beauty. She dwells in the night-time, just as the Empress and the High Priestess did. Night-time is the realm of the feminine and of inward flowing energy. However, if you look closely, there are white vertical lines dispersed in the black background. There’s a bit of the opposite contained within the darkness.

The Mother herself stands out, a white swan against a black background. She faces to the left, the direction associated with mystery and yin energy. One wing is outstretched gracefully over an intricate goblet. Blue, purple and pink stars sparsely dot the sky behind her. These colors are often associated with spirituality and receptivity.

The Mother of Cups has more mature emotional intelligence than the son or daughter. She is wise to the deeper implications of the world, she sees more than just what meets the eye. She is highly sensitive, yet does not let her sensitivities overwhelm her. Her intuition can seem almost magical. She easily senses what type of care and love is needed in a given situation.

As a court card, the Mother of Cups represents an aspect of the human psyche. This card is associated with the part of you that feels a deep connection to many different life forms. She represents your sensitivity to the world of dreams and myths. She asks you to embody her ideals of living with kindness and compassion.

The Ten of Wands

Keywords:  Burden, Hard Road, Overextending

To me this card is kinda bleak.  It's gray and the path is blocked.  There is too much going on and so nothing is really happening.  Time to simplify things and open up that path once again.  You have taken on too many things and can't get it all done.  

"The suit of wands is about enthusiasm, instinct, personal energy and movement. Tens are about taking the suit to its logical conclusion. Thus in the Ten of Wands, we see a depiction of burn out. What was once excitement has become too much of a good thing. There is no focus, the excitement has essentially imploded upon itself.

This card reminds you that enthusiasm is not the only necessary ingredient! The fiery energy of wands can lead to taking on more projects, tasks, and plot lines than you can reasonably follow through with. When you reach this maximum capacity, everything becomes slowed and burdened. It is now necessary to prioritize and declutter so you can get on with the good stuff."

Hopefully you haven't taken on too many tasks and can make it through your day.  Be mindful and simplify and declutter as you go along today.

Card of the day today is the Three of Cups

For me this card means you've found your tribe.  You have that support group to aid in your endeavors. Sharing thoughts and ideas.  It's a beautiful card.  

The longer interpretation is as follows: 

"Three birds are hanging out on a branch, twittering away to one another. The sun sets behind them and they are silhouetted in the warm glows of red, orange and yellow. Three cups line the bottom of the card. It is a comfortable scene of community, sharing and enjoying good company. These birds could be gathering for any number of reasons. Perhaps they are showing support for one of their number. Or maybe they are just gossiping about the days’ events! This is another of the more straightforward cards in the deck. The image successfully evokes feelings of social gatherings, chatting with interesting folks, and the pleasant side of interacting with a group.The sunset is one of the most notable aspects of the imagery here. This deck is strategic with use of color, and this is one of the few cards that gets a verifiable color bath. The warm colors conjure that beautiful feeling when the sun is going down and you’re somewhere you know you belong.

Three of Cups Tarot Card Meanings in General
In the Waite-Smith tarot tradition, this card shows three women standing in a circle, each holding up a cup in an intertwining manner. Hello, and look at this, two days in a ROW!!!  It's a good start that I've kept with something for two solid days!!  

Today's card is the Ace of Wands

Aces are the beginning of any suit, and the element associated with Wands is FIRE.  

KeyWords:  Igniting Energy, New Beginnings

This card to me is all about new beginnings and the energy to move you along that path.  You know what's on your mind and you have the energy to go do it.  It is fitting for me, as my first book on Dragon Magick arrived yesterday.  I started to read it but my allergies just wouldn't let me concentrate.  So I know this is the Universe telling me to get going down this path.  

Here's a breakdown on the card from another site devoted to the Wild Unknown Tarot:

"Patches of fresh blossoms and leaves are sprouting from the wand in the card’s center. This sprouting foliage gives the effect of bursting life and untapped potential. The imagery throws back to that of the Fool, where we saw a chick perched on a branch. Perhaps this is the same branch?

Around the wand is a field of white-hot energy, which merges into orange and yellow rays. These are primal colors, associated with energy that is directly connected to source. This is a reminder of the suit’s association with fire. There’s a radiating energy at work in this card, as indicated by the lines radiating outward from the central wand.
