How can you ever fight this mindset???

This is why Prop 8 passed. (well it's not official yet, but the writing is on the wall) I recieved this message as a reply from someone after I sent a note thanking her for legislating one of my rights away. She is in a Domestic partnership with a man.

EVEN THOUGH WE ARE REGISTERED DOMESTIC PARTNERS, WE STILL DONT HAVE THE SAME CHOICES AS A REAL MARRIED COUPLE. IF PROP 8 PASSES, YOU WILL HAVE MORE CHOICES THAN DOMESTIC PARTNERS. THEY NEED TO LEAVE EVERYTHING THE WAY IT IS AND KEEP TRADITION GOING FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
I'M NOT AGAINST GAY PARTNERSHIPS BUT IF WE CANT GET THE SAME RIGHTS AS A MARRIED COUPLE THAN GAY COUPLES SHOULD NOT HAVE THAT RIGHT.
I GUESS MY FRIENDSHIP WASNT WORTH IT IN THE END.
I REALLY HOPE THAT PROP 8 PASSES AND IT STAYS THAT WAY FOREVER......

Barack is President, at least we have that bright spot. I truly think he can bring this country back together and get us on the right track.

{*******************} Hugz to you all.

Damn, that deserves more than unkind words. Fuck her. And no, her 'friendship' WASN'T worth it in the end.

The marriages between gay couples will not be annulled and will be recognized as a legal "marriage". If you were afraid that prop 8 would pass, then you should have gotten married before the Nov 4 election date. You should not use anyone else's words without their consent. That was the wrong thing to do. She will not like it.

Madhatter52,

Sorry but I was never told that I'd only have a 6 month window to get married. Had it been on my calendar then I would have found a boyfriend and we'd have gotten married. As to the 18,000 marriages still being recognized, well that's gonna be a legal battle ground.

They are saying right now that you can still get a marriage license in Fairfield. As to the 18,000 marriages that were perfaormed, they WILL not be annulled. If you really love your "partner" you can always go to another state that has not banned gay marriages. Several thousand minors that are really in love cross state lines to get married so why cant gay couples do that???

If you think its going to change,,,you are soooo wrong ! ! The decision will never be reversed and a marriage between a man and a woman will stay...

You cant change tradition

Madhatter52 Prop 8 has nothing to do with marriage between a man and a woman. You might want to get educated on the details here.

I don't allow hate on my page. Keep your comments clean and stop attacking my friends or you will be blocked.

If you dont allow "hate" on your page, then why is that comment from her still here...That is hate and you should not leave it on your page...her friendship should not be worth it either

Solano county was the only county that passed prop 8 by a wide margin
Thats gotta tell you something right there
